Arrive in Rome, meet at Hotel
Welcome happy hour and tips
Welcome to the historic city of Rome! You’ll meet your Trova squad at the hotel for a welcome happy hour and travel tips. Get ready to explore the many alluring historical landmarks, meanwhile enjoying delizioso Italian cuisine. We hope that you like pasta! Romans can’t live without it, and neither will you. We recommend amatriciana, carbonara, cacio e pepe and gricia. You may even fall asleep dreaming about savory pancetta or guanciale - pig's cheek – only to wake up to do it all over again day 2!
Tour of Rome
Time to delve into the sights. We’ll take you on a tour of the Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain and Colosseum; where celebrations, sporting events and blood was once shed. Along the way your ambassador will guide you to the local spots so you can fuel up on eats like pizza ciliegina – a white pizza (no tomato sauce) drizzled with cherry tomatoes, rocket salad, baked olives, parmesan and, of course, lots of mozzarella cheese.
i.e. cooking lesson
This is your day to roam free. Not sure what to do? We’ll provide tips and recommendations. Including optional experiences such as cooking lessons. We understand that your travel style is not a one size fits all, and we’ll be sure to provide tips that match your unique preferences. For example, Rome has quite the nightlife, and if you’re the dancing type we suggest you pop into Shari Vari Playhouse, Akab, or Vinile, to name a few. Just let us know what you’re looking for!
Train to Florence
Time to make some moves! After a quick breakfast, we’re headed to Florence, also known as Firenze, by Train. In under 2 hours you’ll arrive at the beautiful capital of Tuscany. Famous for its romantic and enchanting culture, art, and architecture. It’s up to you how you’d like to spend your evening, and as always, feel free to lean on us for suggestions.
Tour of Florence
Florence has so much to see! And we’ll show you the best of it by taking you on a tour of the Accademia Gallery, Uffizi Gallery, and the Duomo. Didn’t get enough sightseeing? Perhaps rent a car for the evening and visit the neighboring medieval villages. Both Siena and San Gimignano are only an hour away. Make a pit stop at the Leaning Tower of Pisa if you’ve got the gas for it!
i.e. wine tasting
We don’t want to overbook you with unnecessary frills so this day is meant to spend time however you see fit. Maybe climb the stairs to Piazzale Michelangelo or walk the narrow winding streets of Old Town. Stop at a local cafe, visit some shops, or even take an afternoon nap from your cozy hotel. Whatever floats your boat! As always, we’re here for guidance.
Bus to Sorrento
A comfortable charter bus will pick us up bright and early to make our way to Sorrento on the beautiful Amalfi Coast. And when life gives you lemons, drink limoncello! Sorrento has an abundance of them so you’ll get your fix. It may suite you to spend the evening relaxing by the water, watching the sunset, and enjoying the serenity that this beautiful region has to offer. The world is your oyster and we won’t stop you from shucking it!
Tour of Amalfi
Together, we’ll explore the iconic shorelines of the Amalfi Coast. Surrounded by colorful cascading buildings trickling down to sea, you’ll find it difficult not to admire the traditional Mediterranean architecture. Life moves at a slower pace in these parts, and you’ll have plenty of time to shop the boutiques, take a stroll along the beach or perhaps visit the church of Santa Maria Assunta.
i.e. Capri boat tour
It’s your last full day to explore! Take delight in the little wonders of Sorrento by taking a trip to Italy’s lost city, Pompeii, or hitch a ride by boat to Capri. Discover the Blue Grotto, and find the magical sunlight that seeps through the cave waters. Prefer to do something else? Tell us and we’ll point you in the right direction.
End of trip!
Until next time...
We’re sad to see you go. Let us arrange your trip back to Rome or continue globetrotting on to other parts of Italy. Chi Cerca Trova – who seeks shall find!
