What do trips include?

All of our trips include accommodations, transportation between cities, some meals and a number of activities relevant to the theme of your trip! Most of our hotels also include breakfast, but that varies by destination. A local guide who speaks the language will also be assigned to your trip and ready to provide recommendations every step of the way. Welcome to a better way to follow your passion while seeing the world!

Do trips include flights?

International flights to and from the trip destination are not included. Looking for cheap flights? Check out kiwi.com!

What type of excursions & tours are provided?

Excursions and tours vary trip to trip and are based on the theme of the trip. Refer to the trip itinerary to see which activities are included in your trip!

Is food included?

Typically, at least 2 dinners and breakfast every day is included, but it varies trip to trip. You can ask your local guide for tips on where to eat cheap if you’re on a budget! Dietary & allergy information will also be collected leading up to the trip to ensure you’re taken care of.

Is a down payment required?

A 25% down payment is due at the time of booking. The down payment is refundable until your spot is confirmed at which time it becomes non-refundable (you will receive an email when your spot is confirmed). The remaining balance will be charged 60 days prior to the trip departure. If you book within 60 days from trip start, the full amount will be due at booking, but still refundable until your spot is confirmed. See all of our Terms & Conditions.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Your spot is pending: The 25% down payment is fully refundable
  • Your spot is confirmed: The 25% down payment is non-refundable
  • 60 days or less before trip start: 100% non-refundable

When will my spot be confirmed?

When you book your trip, your spot will enter a pending status. If the trip is confirmed, your spot will also typically be confirmed in 24-48 hours. If the trip is not confirmed, it can take anywhere from 2-3 months for your spot to be confirmed. While we typically notify much sooner, you’ll be notified at least 60 days prior to trip start whether or not your spot is confirmed. Your down payment is refundable until your spot is confirmed. We recommend not booking a flight until your spot is confirmed.

What are the accommodations like?

Accommodations vary trip to trip! From glamping to boutique hotels, it really varies depending on the theme. We never stay at hostels or hotels below 3 stars. We strive to create an experience that’s not only authentic, but also easily accessible and comfortable.

How many travelers on each trip?

No more than 20 travelers on each trip. In order to create a personalized experience, we feel it is important to keep group sizes smaller. Sometimes, less is more!

What does flying in and out look like?

We try to start and end all trips in a major city with an international airport for your convenience. It’s up to you whether or not you want to continue your adventure after the trip ends!

Where do I meet everyone?

We will send a detailed itinerary with everything you need to know at least 2 weeks prior to your trip start date including hotel and airport transfer information. Before your trip, you’ll be invited to a WhatsApp group to meet the other travelers and start exchanging information. You can expect each trip to kick off with a welcome dinner for you to meet everyone after settling into your room. Bon Appétit!

Who am I rooming with?

Unless listed otherwise, you’ll sleep in shared twin accommodations with a private bathrooms. Traveling with a friend? Just plug in each other's name while booking under "Special Requests" or shoot us an email at hi@trovatrip.com and we’ll ensure you’re roomed together. Uncomfortable with sharing a room? No problem! Most of our trips offer a single supplement option that you can choose when booking.

When will you provide the final itinerary?

Excellent question! We’ll provide a full itinerary including hotel and transportation details at least 2 weeks prior to your trip including all necessary travel information. Accommodations often change depending on the group size, so we like to get the exact itinerary out to you when finalized to avoid confusion.

What do I need to bring?

If you’re leaving the country, you’ll need a valid passport that doesn't expire for at least 6 months from your return date. You may also need a Visa. Unfortunately, we cannot provide Visas or guidance on Visas, so please check with your local consulate. We'll send you a packing list leading up to your trip to help you prep what's needed! Who will be managing my trip?

Trips are hosted by topic experts and led by local guides. Most trips also include a Trip Manager to help coordinate. You’ll be introduced to all staff prior to your trip. Feel free to reach out with any questions regarding your upcoming trip or link up on social media!

Do people travel solo?

YES! Don’t feel pressured to find someone to join you on a trip. Part of the TrovaTrip experience is meeting and traveling with new and exciting people from around the world.

Will there be downtime?

Downtime will vary trip to trip according to the itinerary. We do our best not to jam-pack itineraries so that you have some time to explore or relax on your own!

How do I become a Trip Manager?
