Learn what will make your audience's dream trip
With more than 100 itineraries available, the optional TrovaTrip survey can help a Host pick the right one by telling them exactly what their community wants in an ideal vacation. In this article we’ll discuss how to maximize its effectiveness and how it can make your trip (and subsequent ones!) a success before you even launch.
The survey gets your audience excited & involved
Should you choose to share the survey, think of it as your trip’s soft launch. It’s a chance to give your audience a taste of what’s to come and get them thinking about travel—including the big questions like scheduling and finances—without the pressure of a deadline. Instead they can focus on the trip itself, which means you’ll know for sure (without spending money and time) what kind of trip your audience is interested in. Giving folks a say in where they’ll go and how much it costs makes the whole prospect of group travel feel a lot more personal and important, making them more inclined to sign up.
More responses means a better chance of successfully selling a trip. For example, 100 responses is great and can tell you a lot, but getting at least 150 will increase your chances of booking the minimum Travelers required by over 80%!

The survey provides accurate insights into your community's preferences, helping you select the ideal trip at the perfect price point. Through the Survey Results dashboard in the portal, you can identify top destinations, travel budgets, and even runner-up destinations for future trips.
This data-driven approach eliminates the guesswork of selecting the right itinerary—did we mention we have over 100 options?—and allows you to price trips correctly so you can hit that sweet spot between value and affordability.
The survey is a data goldmine
In addition to trip planning, the survey yields a wealth of data about your community's demographics, interests, budgets, activities, and preferred time of year to travel so that you can choose itineraries with near-telepathic precision. This information empowers you to engage with them more effectively, tailor future trips to their preferences (based on runner-up destinations), and grow your brand.
In addition to detailed stats, the survey also helps build your mailing list, expanding your reach and enhancing your marketing efforts. Each person to submit a response opts in, so when it comes time to promote you won’t just be relying on social channels but can market directly via email.
How to promote your survey
To maximize survey responses, it's helpful to have a promotion plan and engage with your community. Sharing your Host Profile link with the survey on social media channels and leveraging non-social media promotions, such as email lists, can significantly boost participation. Utilizing video announcements and maintaining a consistent posting cadence further encourage engagement and enhance response rates.
Accessing Survey Results
Simply log into the Portal and navigate to the Audience tab to access your survey results.
Understanding Your Audience's Preferences
- Top Destinations: Discover the top travel destinations as voted by your community, ranked by popularity.
- Median Budget: Determine the price point that best aligns with the majority of your audience. This will be the most important data point to consider when choosing an itinerary. Hosts who price their trips at or below the median budget are significantly more likely to confirm their trips.
- Time of Year: The preferred travel times for your audience.
- Budget Breakdown: Understand your audience's travel budget distribution to ensure your trip pricing meets their financial expectations while maximizing your income goals.
- Age & Gender: Demographic insights inform planning and promotion. For instance you may want to consider hosting specialized retreats, such as all-women getaways, based on your specific audience.
Survey says…
While not required, the survey is a powerful tool for every TrovaTrip Host, and will continue paying dividends well after the final response has come in.
