TrovaTrip Scholarship Program Terms & Conditions

We at TrovaTrip, Inc. (“Trova” or “we”, “us” or “our”) are pleased to announce our TrovaTrip Scholarship Program (“Program”). Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully.  By applying to participate in the Program, you certify your agreement to these Terms and Conditions, which form a contractual obligation between you and Trova.

THE COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT, AT OUR DISCRETION AND AT ANY TIME, TO MAKE CHANGES TO ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS AGREEMENT, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION CHANGES TO ANY OF THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING A BOOKING OF A TRIP OR TO THE COMPANY PRIVACY POLICY (HEREINAFTER “UPDATES” TO THIS AGREEMENT”). YOU WILL BE BOUND BY ALL UPDATES TO THIS AGREEMENT.

About the Program: 

We believe that travel enhances the lives of all those who experience it and that connecting to others from different backgrounds creates understanding and harmony.  We also understand that travel is a privilege, and part of making travel more accessible for all is making it a reality for as many people as possible. This is why we are launching the Program.

Each year while the Program is in effect, Trova will grant five (5) scholarships (each, a “Scholarship”).  Each Scholarship is valued at $5,000,* which is to be applied towards the value of a trip booked with Trova, airfare, and other eligible expenses.  Each Scholarship will enable a winner selected by us from the pool of eligible applicants to travel and learn from our topic experts and their communities in each of the following categories (“Interest Categories”):

  • The Arts
  • Culinary arts
  • Health and wellness
  • Empowerment
  • Travel/Outdoor Industry

Applicant Eligibility:

The Program is open to residents of the United States who are at least 18 years old at the time of application submission.  Applicants must demonstrate an interest in travel, and be pursuing or working in one of the Interest Categories listed above as a profession or side hustle.  To be eligible, applicants must not have traveled outside of the United States.

Application Process:

We will be accepting applications for the 2024 Program from January 8, 2024 through 11:59 pm PST on February 23, 2024 (“Application Period”). All applications must be received by us during the Application Period.  Only one application may be submitted per eligible individual.  Duplicate entries will be disqualified.  In the event of discovering fraudulent activity or a violation of these Terms and Conditions, the applicant will be disqualified.  Trova has final discretion in determining whether an application was submitted in a proper and timely manner.

As part of the application process, applicants will be required to answer several written questions, which may involve, among others, telling us about themselves, how they learned about the Program, and describing their travel experience, no matter how big or small. Applicants also should be prepared to demonstrate their interest in and involvement in one or more of the Interest Categories, and explain why they should be chosen for the Scholarship.  Each applicant hereby warrants that all written parts of the application are the original work of the applicant, do not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, and do not contain any content that is likely to be considered offensive by Trova or could reflect negatively on the name or reputation of Trova.  Each applicant must supply Trova with a valid personal email address and/or mobile number at the time of application to ensure notifications are successfully delivered.

Winner Selection:

Trova will appoint a panel to judge the applications after the completion of the Application Period.  Upon review of all submitted written applications, the panel will select certain applicants for interviews.  Applicants unable to attend interviews will be disqualified.  The panel will select five (5) potential winners from all interviewed applicants.  The winners will be notified via email and announced publicly, as well as on our social media pages, on or about May 1, 2024. If we cannot contact a potential winner, or if any Scholarship is not accepted or claimed by July 1, 2024, that winner’s entry will be deemed disqualified and we reserve the right to award the unclaimed Scholarship to another applicant.

Key 2024 Program Dates:

  • Launch date: Jan 3, 2024
  • Application close date: Feb 23, 2024
  • Shortlist complete: Mar 1, 2024
  • Interviews complete: Apr 1, 2024
  • Winners announced: May 1, 2024
  • Scholarship redemption period: June 1, 2024 – June 1, 2025

All dates are subject to change at our discretion.

Scholarship:

Each selected winner will receive the Scholarship in the total amount of $5,000 USD.  The Scholarship shall be applied towards booking a travel experience with Trova during the Scholarship redemption period.  All travel is subject to our booking terms available at Traveler Booking Terms.  You will be responsible for all expenses, fees, and costs connected with the travel package exceeding the Scholarship amount, including international or internal flights (unless included in your travel package), taxes and excess baggage charges, meals and beverages (other than those specified in your travel package), visa and passport fees, travel insurance, and other optional activities and all personal expenses.  We may, in our sole discretion, disburse certain Scholarship funds directly to you for the purchase of airfare and other incidental expenses.

The Scholarship will be forfeited without compensation to the winner if all travel is not completed by June 1, 2025. The Scholarship cannot be refunded, transferred, substituted or redeemed for cash.  All Scholarships are non-renewable.   

Winners grant Trova permission to use their name, application content, and all trip content in any announcements, blog posts, social media posts or newsletters issued by Trova.  Your information will be used in accordance with our privacy policy available at Privacy Policy.

Winners will be required to sign a Waiver of Liability and Hold harmless Agreement as a requirement of and prior to receiving scholarship funds under the Program.

Acknowledgment:

By submitting this application for the scholarship, you confirm that you understand the terms and conditions of the TrovaTrip Scholarship Program, are over the age of 18 and a legal resident of the United States, and that all information supplied by you in connection with your Program application is complete, true, and correct.  You understand that if TrovaTrip discovers or learns that the information you submitted is incomplete or untruthful in any way, you are ineligible to receive a scholarship and, if you have been award a grant, it may be rescinded by TrovaTrip at its discretion and without legal implication to TrovaTrip.
