Host Spotlight: Bunny Kramer
From Starting a Facebook Hiking Group to Leading Trips Around the World

Meet Bunny Kramer. After building a community of women who love hiking, Bunny became a TrovaTrip Host and spent the past five years bringing that community together through unforgettable adventures, from Machu Picchu to Antarctica.
We sat down with her to talk about why she hosts, building a community rooted in trust, and her advice for new Hosts.
"Whether someone is 40, 60, or 80, there are still incredible experiences waiting for them. I want members of my community to return home with more confidence, deeper friendships, and a greater sense of what’s possible in the next chapter of their own lives." -Bunny Kramer
Q: Why do you host trips?
A: "I host trips because I’ve seen how transformative shared adventures can be, especially for women who have spent years putting everyone else’s needs first. Travel creates opportunities for growth, confidence, friendship, and discovery in a way that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. I love creating spaces where women feel supported enough to say “yes” to experiences they may have never imagined themselves doing."
Q: What do these experiences mean to you personally?
A: "These trips combine many of the things I value most: connection, curiosity, learning, adventure, and community. Some of my closest friendships have grown through shared travel experiences, and I’ve watched women of all ages, sizes, and abilities discover strengths they didn’t know they had. Seeing someone step outside their comfort zone and realize they’re capable of far more than they believed is incredibly rewarding."
Q: What impact do you hope they have on your community?
A: "I hope these trips help women realize that adventure doesn’t have an expiration date. Whether someone is 40, 60, or 80, there are still incredible experiences waiting for them. I want members of my community to return home with more confidence, deeper friendships, and a greater sense of what’s possible in the next chapter of their own lives."
Q: How did you get started?
"Twelve years ago, I started a Facebook group because I wanted to connect with other women who loved hiking. What happened next was completely unexpected. The group grew to 80k, friendships formed, more communities followed, and eventually women began asking for opportunities to adventure together in person.
When Jen contacted me on July 9, 2021 (yes, I still have it in my calendar!), the stars seemed to align. Hosting trips felt like a natural next step. In many ways, it’s simply the continuation of a journey that began with a handful of women looking for hiking companions and grew into communities built around friendship, encouragement, and adventure."
"The trip sold out in 17 minutes … and that’s when I realized this wasn’t just about travel. Women were looking for opportunities to explore the world together, support one another, and create lifelong memories."
"The first trip I launched was Peru: Machu Picchu. I was ridiculously excited … and absolutely terrified. I’d never done anything like it before. The trip sold out in 17 minutes … and that’s when I realized this wasn’t just about travel. Women were looking for opportunities to explore the world together, support one another, and create lifelong memories. Five years later, I still feel honored every time someone trusts me with their adventure."

Selling Out An Adventure to Antarctica
Q: Why did you select this trip?
A: "Antarctica has fascinated me for decades. It’s one of the most remote, awe-inspiring places on Earth, and for many travelers it’s a once-in-a-lifetime dream. I knew that if I could bring together a group of curious, adventurous women, the experience would be unforgettable. And hello … it’s ANTARCTICA!"
Q: How were you able to successfully drive sign-ups for a high-ticket expedition like Antarctica?
A: "The biggest factor was trust. Most of the women who signed up had traveled with me before or had been part of my online communities for years. Rather than focusing on selling the trip, I focused on sharing my own genuine excitement, educating people about what the experience would be like, and helping them determine whether it was the right fit for them so they can feel confident in their decision."
Q: Any lessons, strategies, or community-building approaches that contributed to its success?
A: "Community comes first. Long before announcing Antarctica (or any of my trips!), I spent years creating safe supportive online spaces where women support, encourage, and inspire one another. By the time the trip launched, many travelers already knew each other through our communities, so signing up felt less like booking a trip and more like joining friends on an adventure."

Insights for New Hosts
Q: What advice would you give to a first-time Host just getting started?
A: "Focus on building relationships, not selling trips. People join experiences because they trust the Host and want to travel with the community that surrounds them. Be authentic, share your enthusiasm, and communicate consistently. The goal isn’t just to fill a trip, it’s to create an experience where people leave with wonderful memories, new friendships, and greater confidence in themselves. When you focus on that, the bookings tend to follow."
