Day 1

Info

Arrive in Calgary and meet up with your group to transfer into Banff National Park and your campsite near Banff. Please note Banff and many parts of the Canadian Rockies sit near or above 5,000 feet in elevation. If you’re arriving from sea-level or sensitive to altitude sickness it is recommended to make any necessary preparations such as arriving earlier to adjust, or bringing any altitude sickness medication. This evening you’ll set up camp as a group and cook and eat your first meal together.

Arrival Airport Transfer

2 Hours

TrovaTrip will provide one transfer from Calgary International Airport (YYC), between 1 pm and 3 pm. Please arrive by 3pm. Exact transfer time within this window will be determined closer to your arrival based on provided traveler flight information. Travelers arriving outside of the requested flight guidelines will need to make their own arrangements to meet the group at the campsite. Stops for bathrooms will be made in Canmore if needed.

Day 2

Info

Today after breakfast you will transfer to Lake Louise to hike up one of the most iconic and beautiful hikes near Lake Louise. Be prepared to be blown away by views of stunning glacial lakes and incredible mountain vistas. You'll have lunch on the hike and after returning to Lake Louise on the Lake Agnes trail, you'll transfer to Moraine Lake to hike a short trail that will take you to an awesome lookout across Moraine Lake. Then head back to the campground for dinner. Today you’ll want to wear hiking boots, comfortable hiking clothes, a rain jacket, a day pack, water, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

Lake Agnes Tea House Trail

4 Hours

Depart your campground and transfer 50 minutes to the trailhead. This hike is one of the most iconic hikes in Banff. You'll begin at Lake Louise and hike alongside it before heading a bit higher. You’ll pass Mirror Lake and a small waterfall at Lake Agnes before coming to historic Lake Agnes Tea House, built in 1901. Here, you can enjoy some light snacks before making your way back. Trail Type: Out & Back / Distance : 4.4 miles / Elevation: 1,313 feet / Duration: 3-4 hours / Difficulty: Moderate

The Rockpile and Lakeshore Trail

1 Hour

From Lake Louise, take a 25 minute transfer to Moraine Lake. From Moraine Lake parking lot, hike a short trail to get amazing views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The striking beauty of the turquoise lake surrounded by majestic peaks is a sight you’ll remember for a lifetime. Trail Type: Out & Back / Distance : 2.1 miles / Elevation: 124 feet / Duration: 1 hour / Difficulty : Easy

Transfer back to Banff Campground

After your hike, you'll transfer back to your campground near Banff.

Day 3

Info

Today after breakfast, you'll explore Banff downtown on bikes! Transfer into town to pick up your bikes then spend the morning riding around the picturesque town stopping at some memorable landmarks and viewpoints. After your bike tour, you'll have the rest of the afternoon in Banff to explore on your own. Stop into one of the many restaurants for lunch, or buy some souvenirs to take with you! Today you'll want to wear comfortable shorts/pants for biking, comfortable athletic/walking shoes, and bring a rain jacket, a waterbottle, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat and money for lunch and or other personal expenses in Banff.

Banff Bike Tour

2 Hours

After a 10 minute transfer into Banff Downtown, you'll pick up bikes to begin your exploration of the Banff area. Today's ride will be a leisure one across several highlights including Surprise Corner, Banff Springs Hotel, Bow falls, and Cave & Basin National Historic Site. You'll bike on flat paved paths with little elevation gain. Biking Distance: 6.5 miles on flat terrain / Duration: 2 hours / Difficulty: Easy. Helmet and lock are provided.

Afternoon Free in Banff

3 Hours

After your bike ride, you're free to take your time discovering Banff on your own. Get lunch on your own or pick up some souvenirs to take home. Whatever you do, don't forget to take some time and look up at the view of the surrounding mountains! You'll be picked up and taken back to the campground in the evening.

Day 4

Info

Today after breakfast, you'll transfer to Mt. Norquay to brave the climb above Banff on a Via Ferrata experience. After the climb you'll have lunch and then head toward Kananaskis. You'll make a stop to hike up to the Grassi Lakes and marvel at the beautiful turquoise blue water. Then you'll continue on your last leg of the transfer to your campground in Kananaskis. Kananaskis country is much less crowded and more pristine than Banff and as a result, you may encounter more wildlife. Today you'll want to wear warm layers and hiking boots and bring sunglasses, sunscreen, water, a small backpack, and a waterproof rain jacket/pants or soft shell jacket/pants, and gloves (optional).

Via Ferrata The Ridgewalker

4 Hours

Transfer 20 minutes to Mt Norquay for your Via Ferrata experience. To get a greater feel for heights, exposure and the full Via Ferrata experience, become a Ridgewalker! This half-day excursion takes you high up on the Norquay cliffs, climbing the Memorial, Sunrise and Vista buttresses – and of course, traversing the suspension bridge. No climbing knowledge is needed – just a basic level of physical fitness, and a big sense of adventure. Led by a highly experienced ACMG-certified guide. Mt Norquay provides helmets, harnesses and all the climbing gear required for the Via Ferrata route. Please note that there is a minimum weight requirement of 88lbs (40kg) and maximum weight restriction of no more than 308lbs (140kg). Via Ferrata Distance: 1 mile / Elevation : 840 feet / Duration: 4 hours.

Grassi Lakes Trail

1 Hour 30 Mins

After lunch you'll begin your drive to Kananaskis. After about 35 minutes you'll stop at Grassi Lake to do a shorter loop hike. You'll begin by hiking a gradual incline that levels out as the trail opens up with amazing views of the lakes and surrounding peaks. The different vibrant colors of the Grassi Lakes are due to the different depths of each one. After completing the loop and returning to the parking lot, you'll continue your drive to Kananaskis. Trail Type: Loop / Elevation: 610 feet / Distance: 2.5 miles / Difficulty: Easy

Transfer to the Campground

1 Hour 15 Mins

Continue your transfer from Grassi Lakes to the campground.

Day 5

Info

Today is another day of discovery in Kananaskis Country! After breakfast, you'll transfer to the Chester Lake trailhead and hike to Chester Lake. Enjoy lunch on the hike then return to the campground. In the afternoon you'll transfer to the Nordic Spa in Kananaskis village for an outdoor soak to round out the trip. After your soak you'll head back to the campground. For dinner you'll either have an earlier dinner before the Nordic Spa, or a later dinner after the spa - to be decided by group preference. Your final farewell dinner will be a BBQ dinner at the campground. For the hike in the morning you’ll want to wear hiking boots, comfortable hiking clothes, a rain jacket, and bring a day pack, water, sunglasses, and sunscreen. For the spa this evening, you'll want to wear or bring your bathing suit and a water bottle, and sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen).

Chester Lake trail

4 Hours

Transfer 40 minutes from the campground to the trailhead to begin the hike to Chester Lake. The trail begins in a forested area and is a gradual climb of elevation through the pine forest. Eventually the forest opens up to an alpine meadow. Your reward is the beautiful lake at the base of Mount Chester. The surrounding soot-coloured slopes of Mt. Chester and Mt. Smuts provide a stark contrast against the emerald-green forest. After the hike you'll head back to the campground. Trail Type: Out & Back / Distance: 5.8 miles / Elevation: 1,050 feet / Duration: 3-4 hours / Difficulty: Moderate

Kananaskis Nordic Spa

3 Hours

This evening you will reward yourself after your hike with a visit to Kananaskis Nordic Spa. You'll transfer about 40 minutes from the campground to the spa. Then soak your tired legs in the beautiful outdoor pools. Set right in the mountains, you’ll be able to appreciate the beauty of Kananaskis in the warmth of the heated pool or from a heated hammock! You'll return to the campground after your soak. You will be provided with a robe, slippers, and a towel.

Included BBQ dinner at camp. Your meal this evening will consist of a variety of grilled foods such as salmon, sausages, chicken, haloumi, as well as a couple sides and dessert. Your camp menu will vary and be decided based on your guide's recipe repertoire! Your meal tonight will either be an earlier or later dinner as you will be spending your evening at the spa. The time of your dinner will be decided based on the group's preference.

It’s time to say goodbye for now! After breakfast, you’ll be transported to the airport with our warmest wishes for happiness and safety wherever your travels may lead. Please book your flights after 2pm.

Every trip has a physical Activity Level from 1 to 5 so you can find the right fit for your travel style:

  • Level 2 – Low-Key Movement: Light, easy-paced activity (snorkeling, boat tours, gentle hikes)
  • Level 3 – Moderate Activity: Ready to move (multi-day hikes, skiing, camping)

What does "or similar" mean next to the accommodations?

When we say “or similar,” it means the hotel listed is an example of what you can expect—not always the exact spot you'll be staying. Sometimes Operators adjust accommodations due to seasonal availability or group size. But rest assured: the quality and comfort will match what's shown.

Why would the accommodations change from time of booking?

Flexibility allows Operators to choose the best-fit accommodations closer to your trip—based on availability, logistics, and what works best for the group (like the number of Travelers and room configurations). This ensures a smooth experience without sacrificing comfort or quality.

Finalized hotel info is typically shared about 30 days before departure in your Traveler Portal, along with your final itinerary.

Who actually runs my trip, and how does Trova keep things safe?

Your trip is operated by licensed, certified Tour Operators who manage all trip logistics and safety—from accommodations and local Guides and day-to-day logistics. All trips comply with local legal and regulatory standards. We vet each Operating partner carefully so you can travel with confidence.

General Travel Questions

Do I need any documentation to travel?

It depends on where you're headed. Though it is not a universal requirement, many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. This ensures Travelers have sufficient time to return home even if their visas are extended or if unexpected circumstances arise. 

Some destinations may also require a visa. Check our visa page to consult your country's travel resources.

Do I need any vaccines?

It's always best to check with your healthcare provider or a travel doctor before your trip. You can also visit the CDC website (or your local government's travel health resource) for destination-specific vaccine guidance. Health and safety first!

Are flights included in the trip cost?

Because our Hosts and Travelers are coming from all around the world, flights to and from your destination are not included. Some trips include internal flights (like a short domestic hop), and those details will always be listed on the trip page if applicable.

Can you accommodate my dietary needs?

We’ll do our very best! Our Operators aim to accommodate dietary restrictions, though availability varies by destination. For example, some places offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, while others might be quite limited. The earlier you let us know—through your trip form or by contacting our support team—the better we can prepare. Once you arrive, be sure to remind your local Guide about any allergies or restrictions so they can help you enjoy your meals safely and comfortably.
