Day 2

Info

Early this morning, right after breakfast, wave goodbye to Oslo and head out for a full day of breathtaking views! Today you will see the incredible Norwegian landscapes from the Bergen and Flåm railways. Then you’ll admire the stunning Aurlandsfjord and UNESCO-protected Nærøyfjord. You’ll round the day off when you arrive at your accommodation in the evening. After checking in you will have the remainder of the day at your leisure. Today is a long transfer day so please dress comfortably. For lunch you will be able to purchase food on the train, in town, or on the boat. Temperatures may vary in the different locations so dress in layers and bring a warm jacket for the boat.

The Oslo-Flåm Scenic Rail Journey

4 Hours

After breakfast you will walk 15 minutes to the train station for your transfer to Voss. Your first train transfer to Myrdal will take 5 hours. Sit back and relax while taking in the views. You will then board another train to begin your journey to Flam. Called "the most beautiful train journey in the world," this trip will take you into the heart of Norway's most famous natural landscape and vistas. With rivers cutting through deep ravines, waterfalls tumbling down precipitous mountainsides and small farms clinging to steep slopes, a journey on the Flåm Railway is a trip through Norwegian nature. On board there are bathrooms and a food stand in one of the carts where you will be able to purchase snacks and beverages. After arriving in Flam you will disembark the train and have 30 minutes free time before meeting at the pier for your boat tour.

Cruise Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord

2 Hours

After your train ride you’ll experience the natural wonders of Norway on a cruise of Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord. Departing from the charming village of Flåm you’ll make your way through the Aurlandsfjord. Towering mountains, cascading waterfalls, and picturesque villages will take your breath away. Next you’ll navigate through the Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its dramatic beauty. This narrow and winding fjord is flanked by steep cliffs that rise up to 1,800 meters, creating an almost mystical atmosphere. Feel free to walk around to the different parts of the boat to take in the scenery. There are no seats onboard. There is a small restaurant where drinks and snacks may be purchased.

Day 3

Info

This morning you will head out to explore the stunning valleys in the Voss area. During your full day trip you will visit spectacular waterfalls, visit a glacier, admire the beautiful fjords and have plenty of great photo opportunities. This full day tour includes up to 4 hours of private vehicle transfers through breathtaking Norwegian landscapes. There are limited possibilities to purchase food, so please bring some snacks for the time on the bus. You will be able to purchase a light lunch on the boat cruise. Please be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and to pack a hat and sunscreen for today. Temperatures may vary so please dress in layers and bring a warm jacket.

Full Day Exploration of Voss Area

10 Hours

Experience the beauty of the Voss area on a full day tour. You'll embark on a breathtaking drive along the Vikafjell Pass, with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Stop at the Storesvingen viewpoint and take in the awe-inspiring views of the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord. Explore the historic Hopperstad Church in the charming village of Vik. Cruise through the magnificent Sognefjord and Fjaerlandsfjord, known for their pristine beauty and stunning landscapes. On board the boat you will have the opportunity to purchase a light lunch. Visit Fjaerland village and the Norwegian Glacier Museum to learn about the history and formation of glaciers in the region. Witness the beauty of the Boyabreen Glacier, one of the most accessible glaciers in Norway. Finally, stop at the stunning Tvindenfossen waterfall and take in the breathtaking views before heading back to Voss.

Day 4

Info

This morning you will see the incredible Norwegian landscapes from the water, paddling on the UNESCO-protected Nærøyfjord. Midway through the tour, your local guide will find a nice place to stop for lunch. After kayaking you will be transferred on a local bus to the station where you’ll hop on the train and head towards Bergen! After your arrival, you’ll have a brief orientation walk with your guide, then time to explore the area on your own. Perhaps wander by the reconstructed medieval homes as you walk around the Bryggen, a World Heritage listed area of the city. Afterward, you will have the remainder of the day at your leisure. For kayaking please bring a change of clothes for the rest of the day in case you get wet.

Kayaking on Nærøyfjord

3 Hours 30 Mins

This morning you will be transferred 55 minutes on a public bus to Gudvavangen. Explore the beauty of Nærøyfjord on a morning kayaking tour from Gudvangen, perfect for all levels of experience. Paddle past cascading waterfalls, towering mountains and serene valleys, and get up close to the fjord's dramatic landscapes. You will be provided with top-quality gear such as paddle jacket, kayak spray skirts to avoid getting wet, and a wetsuit if/when needed. In the event that you get wet, your tour leader will find a place for you to change clothing before getting on the bus back to town. Life jackets are also provided and you can choose between a single kayak or a double kayak. You will be paddling a total distance of 5-6 miles over 2.5 hours. This is considered beginner friendly and easy.

Train to Bergen

1 Hour 30 Mins

Board the train to Bergen. Trains are equipped with air conditioning, wifi, electrical outlets at each seat, a cafe cart to purchase snacks and drinks as well as restrooms.

Orientation Walk in Bergen

1 Hour

You'll take an orientation walk of the city with your guide and discover the charming streets of Bergen. This picturesque city is known for its rich history and culture, and your knowledgeable guide will provide you with fascinating insights into its past and present. Iconic landmarks include the historic Bryggen wharf, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the vibrant Fish Market where you can sample the freshest seafood. Your guide will make sure you’re set up to make the most of your free time in the city. You will be walking between 1-2 miles.

Day 5

Info

After breakfast you’ll be going off the beaten track for a hike to Mt. Bergsrinden. Once you reach the top you’ll see incredible views of fjords and mountains, as well as some farms dating back to the Viking ages. After your return, you’ll head out to the city to enjoy a farewell dinner with your travel companions. Rain, wind or fog are a common part of hiking in the mountains of Western Norway so please be sure to pack accordingly. You should wear proper hiking shoes, thick socks, a waterproof jacket/fleece or sweater, bring a small backpack with water and snacks for the day as well as sunscreen. If you would prefer hiking poles please be sure to pack those as well.

Mt. Bergsrinden Guided Hike

4 Hours

This morning you will be transferred 55 minutes to the trailhead of Mt. Bergsrinden. Mt. Bergsrinden is situated on a 400 meter high vertical cliff, high above the majestic Sørfjorden. The hiking trail towards the top will take you through beautiful mountain terrain and a unique historical landscape. For more than 7,000 years there have been people living in the area, from the first hunters who settled here after the last ice age - to the vikings who ruled this region at the turn of the last millennium. The total distance, roundtrip, is 4 miles and will take between 4-5 hours depending on the pace of the group. Rain, wind or fog are a common part of hiking in the mountains of Western Norway so the path could be wet in some areas. The path is composed of both marked and unmarked sections and is mostly in good condition. However, there are some more challenging and rocky parts (that some people might find somewhat demanding). Participants should be in good physical condition.

Every trip has a physical Activity Level from 1 to 5 so you can find the right fit for your travel style:

  • Level 2 – Low-Key Movement: Light, easy-paced activity (snorkeling, boat tours, gentle hikes)

When we say “or similar,” it means the hotel listed is an example of what you can expect—not always the exact spot you'll be staying. Sometimes Operators adjust accommodations due to seasonal availability or group size. But rest assured: the quality and comfort will match what's shown.

Why would the accommodations change from time of booking?

Flexibility allows Operators to choose the best-fit accommodations closer to your trip—based on availability, logistics, and what works best for the group (like the number of Travelers and room configurations). This ensures a smooth experience without sacrificing comfort or quality.

Finalized hotel info is typically shared about 30 days before departure in your Traveler Portal, along with your final itinerary.

Who actually runs my trip, and how does Trova keep things safe?

Your trip is operated by licensed, certified Tour Operators who manage all trip logistics and safety—from accommodations and local Guides and day-to-day logistics. All trips comply with local legal and regulatory standards. We vet each Operating partner carefully so you can travel with confidence.

General Travel Questions

Do I need any documentation to travel?

It depends on where you're headed. Though it is not a universal requirement, many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. This ensures Travelers have sufficient time to return home even if their visas are extended or if unexpected circumstances arise. 

Some destinations may also require a visa. Check our visa page to consult your country's travel resources.

Do I need any vaccines?

It's always best to check with your healthcare provider or a travel doctor before your trip. You can also visit the CDC website (or your local government's travel health resource) for destination-specific vaccine guidance. Health and safety first!

Are flights included in the trip cost?

Because our Hosts and Travelers are coming from all around the world, flights to and from your destination are not included. Some trips include internal flights (like a short domestic hop), and those details will always be listed on the trip page if applicable.

Can you accommodate my dietary needs?

We’ll do our very best! Our Operators aim to accommodate dietary restrictions, though availability varies by destination. For example, some places offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, while others might be quite limited. The earlier you let us know—through your trip form or by contacting our support team—the better we can prepare. Once you arrive, be sure to remind your local Guide about any allergies or restrictions so they can help you enjoy your meals safely and comfortably.
