Day 2

Info

Buongiorno! After breakfast, join your group for a full day of exploration. First, take a guided walking tour of Rome’s landmarks, climb the Spanish Steps, visit the Pantheon, and admire the beautiful Piazza Navona. Don’t forget to toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain before leaving! After lunch, it’s time for a guided visit to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum before transferring back to your hotel by private vehicle. Please wear comfortable shoes and sun protection as needed. Additionally, please bring a reusable water bottle as Rome is plastic-free; you can refill at one of the many water fountains around the city.

Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and Pantheon Guided Walking Tour

3 Hours

Meet in the lobby and begin your tour by walking with your local Guide for 15 minutes through the charming Spanish Steps, where elegance meets history. Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain, making a wish come true. Then, immerse yourself in the awe-inspiring Pantheon, a marvel of ancient engineering. Admission to the Pantheon is included. You will be walking for approximately 3 hours (2.5 miles) on normal road surfaces with the exception of some cobblestone streets. Please remember to bring comfortable shoes, reusable water bottles, hat, and sunscreen. Physical activity level: Moderate

Colosseum Visit

2 Hours

For lunch your tour Guide will take you to an off the beaten path area where you will have free time for lunch or to walk around, explore, and shop. At the agreed upon time after lunch, you will walk 10 minutes towards the Colosseum to meet up with your group. Step into ancient Rome's grandeur and explore this iconic amphitheater, where gladiators once clashed, and emperors ruled. Led by your local Guide, you'll delve into its history, architecture, and captivating stories. Admission into the Colosseum is included. The pavement inside the Colosseum and Roman Forum is stone and uneven so please remember to wear comfortable shoes. You should also pack your reusable water bottles, hat, and sunscreen. You will be walking around inside the Colosseum for approximately 2 hours.

Day 3

After breakfast, board a high-speed train bound for the place where the Renaissance began: Florence! Check in to your hotel, then spend some time exploring the area on your own and enjoying a local lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll join the group for a guided walking tour, before once again enjoying the rest of the day at your leisure. You may wish to stay out late tonight as well, to experience the streets and monuments of this beautiful city under the moonlight. Please wear comfortable shoes and sun protection as needed. Additionally, please bring a reusable water bottle as Florence is plastic-free; you can refill at one of the many water fountains around the city.

High-Speed Train Rome to Florence

2 Hours

Board the high-speed train in Rome for a swift and scenic journey to Florence. As the picturesque Italian countryside unfolds outside your window, relax in comfort during this approximately 2-hour ride. Trains are equipped with air conditioning, wifi, electrical outlets at each seat, a cafe cart to purchase snacks and drinks as well as restrooms.

Guided Florence Walking Tour

3 Hours

The tour starts at Santa Maria Novella Square. Depending on the location of your hotel, you’ll either walk, take public transportation, or be transferred privately to the starting point. Then, led by your local Guide, you’ll explore this Renaissance gem and discover icons such as the Florence Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, and the Uffizi Gallery (admission to the Uffizi is not included). The route will cover approximately 1 mile of walking on normal road surfaces. After the tour is over, you’ll be free to explore on your own or return to the hotel via walking/public transportation. Physical activity level: Moderate

Today you’ll travel by private transfer to the Tuscan countryside. See its medieval towns and unforgettable landscapes, visit a local agriturismo to explore the vineyards and sample some of their celebrated wine, and enjoy an included lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the medieval town of San Gimignano with its Gothic and Romanesque architecture. Finally, you’ll head back to Florence and enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Transfer to Tuscan Winery

Take a private transfer to the Tuscan countryside to spend the afternoon wine tasting and exploring the vineyard. Stops for bathrooms/snacks will be made along the way as needed.

Tuscan Wine Tasting and Lunch

3 Hours

Escape to idyllic Tuscany for a memorable wine-tasting and lunch experience. Amidst rolling vineyards and charming landscapes, savor three fine regional wines and indulge in a delectable Tuscan feast. After lunch, you will have time to relax on the grounds and take in the scenery before heading back to Florence.

Castel Sant'Angelo - guided tour

From your hotel take an included transfer to Castel Sant'Angelo commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. Join a guided tour of this magnificent landmark that later became the popes fortress and castle.

What does "or similar" mean next to the accommodations?

When we say “or similar,” it means the hotel listed is an example of what you can expect—not always the exact spot you'll be staying. Sometimes Operators adjust accommodations due to seasonal availability or group size. But rest assured: the quality and comfort will match what's shown.

Why would the accommodations change from time of booking?

Flexibility allows Operators to choose the best-fit accommodations closer to your trip—based on availability, logistics, and what works best for the group (like the number of Travelers and room configurations). This ensures a smooth experience without sacrificing comfort or quality.

Finalized hotel info is typically shared about 30 days before departure in your Traveler Portal, along with your final itinerary.

Who actually runs my trip, and how does Trova keep things safe?

General Travel Questions

Do I need any documentation to travel?

It depends on where you're headed. Though it is not a universal requirement, many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. This ensures Travelers have sufficient time to return home even if their visas are extended or if unexpected circumstances arise. 

Some destinations may also require a visa. Check our visa page to consult your country's travel resources.

Do I need any vaccines?

It's always best to check with your healthcare provider or a travel doctor before your trip. You can also visit the CDC website (or your local government's travel health resource) for destination-specific vaccine guidance. Health and safety first!

Are flights included in the trip cost?

Because our Hosts and Travelers are coming from all around the world, flights to and from your destination are not included. Some trips include internal flights (like a short domestic hop), and those details will always be listed on the trip page if applicable.

Can you accommodate my dietary needs?

We’ll do our very best! Our Operators aim to accommodate dietary restrictions, though availability varies by destination. For example, some places offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, while others might be quite limited. The earlier you let us know—through your trip form or by contacting our support team—the better we can prepare. Once you arrive, be sure to remind your local Guide about any allergies or restrictions so they can help you enjoy your meals safely and comfortably.
