Berlin Orientation walk
Berlin is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers something for everyone. Whether you are interested in history, culture, art, nightlife, or nature, you will find it in Berlin. You can explore the iconic landmarks, such as the Brandenburg Gate and the Berlin Wall, or discover the hidden gems, such as the urban gardens and the street art. Berlin is a city that celebrates diversity and creativity. Learn more about what the city has to offer on an introduction tour of the city with your tour leader. Your leader will provide you suggestions on what you can do and visit on the free afternoon. The orientation walk is done on the way to the markets and includes travel by public transport and walking. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk up to 3 miles on paved streets.
Christmas Markets Visit
Your tour leader will take you on a journey to explore Berlin's Christmas markets. You will visit the elegant Christmas Market at Gendarmenmarkt. After head over to a more traditional market in the Spandau neighborhood.

Train to Dresden & Christmas Markets

Train to Dresden
From your hotel you will walk to the train station. In the event that your hotel is more than a 15 minute walk, a private transfer will be provided. Take a train to the town of Dresden. Ticket is included. There are bathrooms and a snack cart on board. After arriving in Dresden you will walk to your new accommodations.
Dresden Orientation Walk
You will walk 10 minutes to the tram station and take a 15 minute tram ride to the historic center to begin your tour. Dresden is a city truly filled with culture- majestic palaces, royal buildings, gardens, music venues and more. It is a destination famous for its rich cultural and historical heritage. Join your tour leader on an introduction walk through the city passing landmarks such as Semperoper opera house, the Church of Our Lady, Brühl's Terrace and the Royal Palace. You will have time to return and explore these sights on your free day tomorrow. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and expect to walk up to 2 miles on cobblestone streets and alleys.
Dresden Christmas Markets
You can find traditional crafts, delicious treats, and sparkling lights in every corner of the city. Whether you want to admire the world's largest nutcracker, enjoy a mug of mulled wine, or listen to live music, there is something for everyone at the Dresden Christmas markets. Join your tour leader on a visit to Dresden's Striezelmarkt. This market has preserved its distinctive character despite a few changes since 1434. Afterwards stroll along the "Christmas mile" - Christmas market that stretches through the historic centre of the city. You will discover why Dresden has been called the Christmas capital of Europe. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and expect to walk up to 2 miles on cobblestone streets.

Zwinger Palace
From your hotel you will walk 10 minutes with the group to the tram station and take a 15 minute ride to Zwinger Palace, the perfect image of Dresden. Zwinger Palace is a magnificent baroque complex that was built in the 18th century as a venue for royal festivities. It houses several museums, such as the Old Masters Gallery, the Porcelain Collection, and the Royal Cabinet of Mathematical and Physical Instruments. You can admire the stunning architecture, the exquisite artworks, and the fascinating exhibits that showcase the cultural heritage of Saxony. Please wear comfortable shoes and be prepared to walk up to 2 miles on a mix of paved and gravel pathways.

Visit to Seiffen
Stop for a visit in Seiffen. This charming village in the heart of the Ore Mountains is known for its craftsmanship and history. Seiffen has been making toys since the 17th century, when former miners turned to wood carving as a way to survive. Explore the town, visit town's Christmas market and enjoy a drink with your group before continuing onwards to Czechia.
Transfer to Karlovy Vary
Take a private transfer to the town of Karlovy Vary. Stops for bathrooms/snacks will be made as needed.
Karlovy Vary Orientation Walk
Karlovy Vary is a beautiful spa town set in a stunning location. It has long been a choice destination for Europe's most influential people. Over the centuries people like Napoleon Bonaparte, Peter the Great, Emperor Franz Josef I, Goethe, Beethoven and Freud have stayed in the well know spa town. And now it is your turn to visit. Join your tour leader on a short orientation walk along the river to admire the elegant architecture and visit the towns main Christmas market. The town is set in a fairy tale setting. Due to the small size of the town, you will be walking through Karlovy Vary so please wear comfortable walking shoes.
Thermal Baths Entrance Ticket (optional)
From your hotel you will walk to the baths. The exact distance will be confirmed once the tickets are purchased. This evening you will be provided with tickets to visit the famous thermal baths of Karlovy Vary. Spend some time unwinding in the sauna and soaking in the warm waters. Please be sure to pack your bathing suit, a towel, sandals and a change of clothes for after.

Prague Orientation Walk
Prague is a wonderful city that has so much to offer. It is buzzing with life during Christmas time. Explore the old town and pass the Astronomical Clock, one of the oldest working clocks in the world, and the Church of Our Lady before Týn, a Gothic masterpiece. Head onwards to Wencesalas square and learn about Czechias more recent history from 20th century as the square has been the scene of many demonstrations, celebrations, and protests throughout history. Finish the introduction walk with a stop on the Charles bridge, the iconic landmark that connects the Old Town and the Lesser Town. Please wear comfortable walking shoes as you will be walking approximately 2.5- 3 miles on cobblestone roads and alleys.
Prague Christmas Markets
Prague is a magical city to visit during Christmas time. The streets are decorated with lights and ornaments, the markets are filled with festive goods and treats, and the atmosphere is cheerful and cozy. You can admire the beautiful architecture of the Old Town Square, where a giant Christmas tree stands every year. Once you are done in the market, you can stay and explore more of the city or walk 15-20 minutes back to the hotel.

For the beer lover, take a self-guided tour of the Pilsener brewery. You will walk 5 minutes to the tram station and take a 10 minute tram ride to the brewery. On this audio tour you will learn about the brewing process and different techniques that they've been using for over 180 years. Your tour concludes in the tap with with 2 beer tastings.

- The Operator is the professional travel company that runs the trip on the ground. They handle it all—accommodations, local Guides, activities, and safety. Every Operator we partner with is licensed, insured, and vetted to deliver high-quality group travel.

Can I book solo?
Absolutely! As of 2025, almost 84% of TrovaTrip Travelers go solo. (And yes, we may be a little biased, but we think group travel is one of the best ways to meet new people!) You'll have your own bed and the option to book a private room on most trips. Plus you'll be traveling with others who are just as excited to explore and connect.
What if I need to cancel?
We understand that life happens. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide flexibility while balancing the logistics of group travel:
- Spot pending – 100% refundable. Not confirmed yet? No worries. You can cancel at any time for a full refund.
- Spot confirmed with 91 or more days before your trip – Partially refundable + credit towards a future trip. You'll receive a future trip credit for the amount of your down payment (minus a $100 cancellation fee per Traveler). This trip credit is valid for one year from the date it is issued. Additionally, any payments made beyond the original 25% down payment will be refunded to your original form of payment.
- Spot confirmed with 90 days or fewer before your trip – Non-refundable. At this point, all payments are non-refundable because your experience is already in motion behind the scenes. By this time, our operating partners will be working with local businesses to secure your accommodations and finalize your activities.

What do the activity levels mean?
Every trip has a physical Activity Level from 1 to 5 so you can find the right fit for your travel style:
- Level 1 – Relax + Unwind: Minimal movement (spa days, beach lounging, local markets)
- Level 2 – Low-Key Movement: Light, easy-paced activity (snorkeling, boat tours, gentle hikes)
- Level 3 – Moderate Activity: Ready to move (multi-day hikes, skiing, camping)
- Level 4 – Get Your Heart Rate Up: More intense movement (long hikes, biking, active days)
- Level 5 – Extreme Adventure: High-adrenaline travel (challenging hikes, dives, technical climbs – experience may be required)

Accommodations
What does "or similar" mean next to the accommodations?
When we say “or similar,” it means the hotel listed is an example of what you can expect—not always the exact spot you'll be staying. Sometimes Operators adjust accommodations due to seasonal availability or group size. But rest assured: the quality and comfort will match what's shown.
Why would the accommodations change from time of booking?
Flexibility allows Operators to choose the best-fit accommodations closer to your trip—based on availability, logistics, and what works best for the group (like the number of Travelers and room configurations). This ensures a smooth experience without sacrificing comfort or quality.
Finalized hotel info is typically shared about 30 days before departure in your Traveler Portal, along with your final itinerary.
Trip Operations & Compliance
Who actually runs my trip, and how does Trova keep things safe?
Your trip is operated by licensed, certified Tour Operators who manage all trip logistics and safety—from accommodations and local Guides and day-to-day logistics. All trips comply with local legal and regulatory standards. We vet each Operating partner carefully so you can travel with confidence.

General Travel Questions
Do I need any documentation to travel?
It depends on where you're headed. Though it is not a universal requirement, many countries require that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date. This ensures Travelers have sufficient time to return home even if their visas are extended or if unexpected circumstances arise.
Some destinations may also require a visa. Check our visa page to consult your country's travel resources.
Do I need any vaccines?
It's always best to check with your healthcare provider or a travel doctor before your trip. You can also visit the CDC website (or your local government's travel health resource) for destination-specific vaccine guidance. Health and safety first!
Are flights included in the trip cost?
Because our Hosts and Travelers are coming from all around the world, flights to and from your destination are not included. Some trips include internal flights (like a short domestic hop), and those details will always be listed on the trip page if applicable.
Can you accommodate my dietary needs?
We’ll do our very best! Our Operators aim to accommodate dietary restrictions, though availability varies by destination. For example, some places offer plenty of vegan and vegetarian choices, while others might be quite limited. The earlier you let us know—through your trip form or by contacting our support team—the better we can prepare. Once you arrive, be sure to remind your local Guide about any allergies or restrictions so they can help you enjoy your meals safely and comfortably.
