Embark on your first adventure—whitewater rafting on the mighty Nenana River! Considered to be the most popular whitewater river in Alaska, this Class 2 and 3 river adventure is suitable for all ages and levels of experience. The 11 mile scenic journey will offer possible sightings of the regal wildlife, giving you countless opportunities for some outstanding photos.

Day 3

Today is all about exploring Denali National Park. A shuttle bus will take you deep into the park on scenic roads that are mostly dirt and gravel. Denali is approximately 6 million acres of mostly unspoiled wilderness, divided by one winding ribbon of road. Wild animals roam the unfenced lands making for can’t-miss wildlife viewing.

Denali Sightseeing Tour

On this journey into the interior, keep a lookout for sightings of Alaska's Big 5: Grizzly bears, wolves, moose, caribou and Dall sheep. Today is the best opportunity to spot iconic wildlife! Once you arrive at the Eielson Visitor Center, you'll have time to do a short hike with your guide to amazing vantage points with epic views of Denali peak and the surrounding expanse of the tundra.

Day 4

After a few exciting days exploring Alaska's heartland, it's time to head south to the beautiful Kenai Peninsula. On today's long drive, you have ample opportunities to see wildlife and enjoy the fantastic natural beauty of Alaska. Of course, it's also a great opportunity to catch some zzzs. After the long journey, be sure to head out for a walk along Seward's waterfront. Stunning views of glaciers and mountains surround all sides of this picturesque town on the edge of Resurrection Bay.

Day 5

Today, you'll visit Kenai Fjords National Park! Beginning at the Exit Glacier section near Seward, you will have the option to do a variety of hikes, all of which get you up close to a massive and ancient glacier.

Harding Icefield Trail

If you're up for the challenge, follow your guide to a hike above the tree line to the top of Exit Glacier where it meets the Harding Icefield. The icefield stretches to the horizon and is one of the most awe-inspiring views you will ever experience. On your way back down the mountain, keep your eyes open for marmots, mountain goats, and of course, bears! Distance: 8.2 miles roundtrip / Elevation gain: 3,812 ft on the ascent / Duration: 6-8 hours / Difficulty: Hard

On your final day in Seward, you will embark on an unforgettable wildlife and glacier viewing cruise.

Wildlife and Glacier Cruise

This cruise, narrated by a national park ranger, journeys through Resurrection Bay, out into the Gulf of Alaska, and then into one of the many nearby fjords. Along the way, you may spot whales, orcas, sea otters, and other marine life. Not to mention, the occasional bear lingering on a beach or mountain goat high in the surrounding cliffs. As you move through the fjords, you'll stop near one of the many glaciers and view the continual calving of ice. Sections of glaciers, often the size of a house, fall hundreds of feet, crashing into the ocean. The power and scale of glaciers in Alaska make for a tremendous sight!

Day 7

All good things must come to an end! You'll transfer to the airport and bid farewell for now. On the trip from Seward back to Anchorage, you can stretch your legs at the spectacular Alyeska Resort. Take a tranquil walk through the quiet old-growth spruce forests that surround the resort or grab some lunch at the hotel's restaurant.
