To minimize the risk of pickpocketing it is recommended to be discreet: don’t flash anything of value, keep a firm hand on your camera, and carry shoulder bags slung across your body. Overall it’s a good idea to avoid badly lit areas completely at night and deserted inner-city areas by day.
Is the water safe to drink? Tap water is generally safe to drink except for some rural areas. The inscription 'Acqua Non Potabile' means water is not drinkable.

What does public transportation look like? To get a taxi in Italy you will need to walk to a designated taxi stand or call one of the local radio taxi companies. Taxi stands can be found outside of most tourist attractions, main squares, and transport hubs
Is Uber or Lyft available? Uber Black is available only in Rome and Milan, which means higher prices and nicer cars.
What about Wifi? In Rome Wi-Fi can typically be found at your hotel, in libraries, close to train stations, and at internet cafes and there are also outdoor Wi-Fi hotspots.
