[+$565 USD] Machu Picchu Experience (Oct 10 - 11): Experience one of Seven Wonders of the World on this incredible trip to Machu Picchu! You’ll start in Cusco where you’ll take a train to Aguas Calientes before riding up to the ancient Incan village. You’ll have a 2.5 hour guided experience within Machu Picchu where you’ll learn all about what makes this site so special and how it was lost and then found! After snapping all the photos you can, you’ll head back to Aguas Calientes before hopping on the train back to Cusco. You'll stay the night in Cusco and we'll include an airport transfer the next morning.

Holly is a Seattle based outdoor enthusiast, photographer and social content creator, on top of maintaining her career at an advertising agency. She loves traveling and immersing herself in nature, but her true passion is hiking and backpacking.


Day 1

Welcome to Peru! You’ll be picked up at the airport before transferring to Pisac (~1 hour). Explore Pisac Market on your own or rest up and adjust to the high altitude (11,000 ft) before you meet for dinner and cheers to the adventure to come!

Overnight in Pisac

Arrival: Fly into Cusco Airport (CUZ) - Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport. We'll provide 3 transfers on the first day between 8am - 5pm.

Included: Welcome Dinner, Airport Transfer

Day 2

Time to explore! Today you’ll hike up to the Pisac Ruins and learn about Quechua culture. Make sure to bring your camera, the viewpoints up here are surrounded by 360 degrees of mountains. After you hike back down to town, you’ll start making your way to Ollantaytambo. After a lunch stop on the way, explore this ancient town and the unique rock formations that surround it.

After an incredible first day spent exploring, you'll head back to the hotel in Pisac for a well earned rest.

Day 3

Grab you water and lace on those boots because its hiking time! Today you'll get to explore two mountain lakes along the Kinsa Cocha trail just outside Pisac. Marvel at Incan terracing and keep an eye out for mountain goats as you explore these breathtaking hills.

Later the group will drive to Cusco to stay overnight.

Kinsa Cocha Lakes:
Hike Duration: 3-4 hours
Hike Length: 4 mile loop
Elevation: 13,241 feet to 13,928 feet
Hike Difficulty: Moderate

Day 4

Today you’ll get your legs moving on a full day hike to Humantay Lake and Chonta Viewpoint! The gorgeous views of the blue lake (and the elevation) are sure to get your heart pumping. This is also a great spot to look for the massive Andean Condor! If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to see these winged giants in flight.

Enjoy some lunch to refuel from the trek before making your way back to Cusco.

Humantay Lake:
Hike Duration: 3-4 hours
Hike Length: 3.5 miles roundtrip
Elevation: 12,800 feet to 13,900 feet
Hike Difficulty: Moderate

Chonta Viewpoint:
Hike Duration: 3 hours
Hike Length: 3.6 miles roundtrip
Elevation: 11,000 feet to 11,200 feet
Hike Difficulty: Easy

Day 5

Enjoy a break day from hiking and fuel your body with a Peruvian cooking class. First the crew will stop by a local market to grab some fresh ingredients before the lesson. Then a local chef will teach you the tricks to whipping up some delicious Peruvian dishes!

You have the afternoon free to explore Cusco on your own.

Day 6

Time to hit the trails again on a full day hike to Waqrapucara! This hike will take you up rugged terrain until you reach the unique site of Waqrapucara. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you hike up and then enjoy a guided tour of the archaeological site at the top. After free time to snap some pictures and explore, you’ll hike back down to the town of Huayqui.

After the hike, you will transfer to your next hotel in Cusipata for the night.

Day 7

Early bird gets the view! Today you’ll hike to the epic saddle of Rainbow Mountain for views of the colorful, natural formation. The elevation is steep, but if you go your pace, all levels can make it to the top to bask in this natural wonder.

Catch some zzz's in the car as you make your way back to Cusco. Once you settle into your hotel, meet up with the crew for your farewell dinner where you can cheers to all the trail memories and friends you’ve made.
