Chelsea is the author of Rising Up Stronger and a world traveling yoga instructor. As a mom of three, Chelsea fell in love with the quiet stillness that yoga offers and started sharing it with the world in 2015. Renee Choi

Renee’s love for photography started in the darkroom many years ago with the shooting, processing and printing of black and white film. Experienced in commercial, travel, portrait, event and movement photography, Renee also has her 200-hour yoga certification through Yogaworks. She has shot for NY Yoga and Life magazine, Laughing Lotus Yoga, Northside Media, Pravassa Travel, MeatPacking Improvement Association, OhmK, DocFest (NYC Documentary Film Festival) and the NewFest film festival.

Marrakech: A vibrant & energetic city, Marrakech is one of the most popular cities in Morocco. Embrace the chaos and shop olives, lanterns, brightly-colored pots, glassware and so much more. Taste traditional dishes with the locals at Jemaa el-Fna square and observe the organized chaos.

Dades Gorges: Surrounded by red rock formations and clustered with kasbahs, Dades Gorges is a peaceful and serene place. Catch glimpses of fig, almond or olive trees as you zig zag through the valley and take photos of the dramatic windy roads along the way.

Sahara Desert: Admire the large seas of dunes shaped by wind-blown sand. Listen to the beat of drums, watch a traditional Berber dance, sip tea under the stars, make new friends with camels and experience life in the Sahara Desert for one unforgettable night.

Ouarzazate: Known as ‘The Door of the Desert’, Ouarzazate is home to a 19th century palace and has been featured in several films. Visit the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site, Aït Ben Haddou, and explore its many Kasbahs.

Fly into the Marrakech Menara Airport where you’ll meet your guide for the next 8 days. We’ll take you to the beautiful riad where you’ll check in and get settled into your room before joining the crew for a traditional Moroccan meal.

Rise & shine, time to explore Marrakech! The morning will be devoted to sightseeing. Visiting places such as the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and the Majorelle gardens. We’ll return by noon and hit the ground running again in the afternoon to explore the souks and world famous Jemaa el-Fna square. The square is buzzing with story tellers, acrobats, snake-charmers, magicians and much more.

Later, join Chelsea on the roof of your riad for the first yoga workshop of the trip.

Rising Up Stronger Workshop (75 mins): A strength based workshop creating stability and awareness preparing students to work into beginner inversions and arm balances. Based off of Chelsea’s ebook Rising Up Stronger.

Start the morning right with more rooftop yoga and later partake in a traditional hammam. Relax at the spa with your new friends and experience a Moroccan massage with local herbs and argan oil.

Open Heart Warrior Workshop (120 mins): A workshop centered around shoulder and heart openers with a focus on easing into backbends and surrender.

Enjoy breakfast at the Riad, before heading south to escape the busy life of Marrakech. The journey will take us through small Berber villages, across the High Atlas Mountains and to the famous peak of Tizi n'Tichka.

We’ll make our way to UNESCO world heritage site, The Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, which has been featured in a number of western films.

Settle into your accommodations for the evening and flow through yoga with Chelsea before calling it a night.

After breakfast, we’ll head out to Dades Gorges passing through Ouarzazate (the hollywood of Africa), where we’ll stay during our return from Sahara Desert. We’ll continue the journey through the Valley of the Roses, the city of Skoura, and arrive towards the middle of the canyons to stay in Dades Gorges overnight.

Experience dinner with a local Berber family and enjoy henna and live music afterwards.

Wake up for some optional morning yoga by the river. Afterwards, eat breakfast before continuing our journey on towards the Sahara Desert. The road takes us past thousands of Kasbahs and through colorful Berber villages. We’ll pass by Tinghir with its beautiful palm grove and continue to the Todgha Gorge, where we’ll stop for a hike.

After our hour and a half trek, we’ll continue on to the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga. We’ll climb into our jeeps and zip through the sand dunes to arrive at our camp in an oasis.

Sip on Moroccan mint tea upon arrival, meet friendly camels, listen to traditional music, dance if you feel so inclined, settle into camp and enjoy dinner with the group. We’ll spend the night in our nomadic tents or outside under the shooting stars with our bellies full of food.

After a memorable night in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, wake up early to enjoy sunrise yoga led by Chelsea.

Snap a few pics with your camel friends and say goodbye to the beautiful desert before departing by jeep. We’ll stop in Rissani to explore the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif and the palm groves before driving through the Draa Valley to arrive at your hotel in Ouarzazate. Join the group for one last dinner to cheers to your shared desert journey and new friendships that will last a lifetime!

We’ll travel over the High Atlas Mountains one final time before returning to the place where it all started, Marrakech. TrovaTrip will drop you off at the airport to catch flights home later in the afternoon or early evening.

All of our trips include accommodations, transportation between cities, some meals and a number of activities relevant to the theme of your trip! Most of our hotels also include breakfast, but that varies by destination. A local guide who speaks the language will also be assigned to your trip and ready to provide recommendations every step of the way. Excursions and tours vary trip to trip and are based on the theme of the trip. Refer to the trip itinerary to see which activities are included in your trip!
Typically, at least 2 dinners and breakfast every day is included, but it varies trip to trip. You can ask your local guide for tips on where to eat cheap if you’re on a budget! Dietary & allergy information will also be collected leading up to the trip to ensure you’re taken care of.
TrovaPass is a subscription service where you can earn credits on a monthly basis that can be applied towards trips. It is not currently available to new subscribers.
A 25% down payment is due at the time of booking. The down payment is refundable until your spot is confirmed at which time it becomes non-refundable. You will receive an email when your spot is confirmed. The remaining balance will be charged 60 days prior to the trip departure. If you book within 60 days from trip start, the full amount will be due at booking, but still refundable until your spot is confirmed. See all of our Terms & Conditions.
When you book your trip, your spot will enter a pending status. In most cases, your spot will be confirmed about 48 hours after booking. In cases where the trip has not yet achieved the minimum number of bookings required for confirmation, your pending status may last longer. While we typically notify much sooner, you’ll be notified at least 60 days prior to trip start whether or not your spot is confirmed. Your down payment is refundable until your spot is confirmed. We recommend not booking a flight until your spot is confirmed.
We cater to adults past the stage of roughing it - that means no hostels and no hotels below 3 stars. We strive to create an experience that’s not only authentic, but also easily accessible and comfortable. All hotel locations are conveniently located near the heart of each major destination, so you can live like a local. Less time in transit means more time doing; save the commute for back home.
No more than 20 travelers on each trip. In order to create a personalized experience, we feel it is important to keep group sizes smaller. Sometimes, less is more!
We try to start and end all trips in a major city with an international airport for your convenience. It’s up to you whether or not you want to continue your adventure after the trip ends!
We will send a detailed itinerary with everything you need to know at least 2 weeks prior to your trip start date including hotel information and airport transfer information (if included). Before your trip, you’ll be invited to both a Facebook and WhatsApp group to meet the other travelers and start exchanging information. You can expect each trip to kick off with a welcome dinner for you to meet everyone after settling into your room. Bon Appétit!
Unless listed otherwise, you’ll sleep in twin or double shared accommodations with private bathrooms. Traveling with a friend? Just plug in their name while booking under "Special Requests" or shoot us an email at hi@trovatrip.com and we’ll ensure you’re roomed together. Uncomfortable with sharing a room? No problem! Most of our trips offer a single supplement option that you can choose when booking.
Excellent question! We’ll provide a full itinerary including hotel and transportation details at least 2 weeks prior to your trip including all necessary travel information. Accommodations often change depending on the group size, so we like to get the exact itinerary out to you when finalized to avoid confusion.
If you’re leaving the country, you’ll need a valid passport that doesn't expire for at least 6 months from your return date. You may also need a Visa. Unfortunately, we cannot provide Visas or guidance on Visas, so please check with your local consulate. We'll send you a packing list leading up to your trip to help you prep what's needed! If you have specific questions about what to pack, email us at hi@trovatrip.com.
Trips are hosted by topic experts and led by local guides. Most trips also include a Trip Manager to help coordinate. You’ll be introduced to all staff prior to your trip. Feel free to reach out with any questions regarding your upcoming trip or link up on social media!
