Rome: The history and culture of Rome practically speaks for itself, but in case you’ve been living under a rock for the past three thousand years, Rome is the capital of Italy, a place that has served as the center of many of humanity’s greatest achievements. Ancient ruins like the Colosseum and the Roman Forum can be found throughout the city which cast a romantic view on the millennia of history and civilizations that have called Rome home, and the beautiful basilicas and museums of the Vatican--including the world-famous Sistine Chapel--hold some incredible art and history as well.
Florence: In the 15th century, the city of Florence is where the Italian Renaissance started and grew from thanks to the famous Medici family, and today it is still alight with some of the most beautiful and famous art in history. From gorgeous architecture, statues, and fountains which can be seen a walk down the street, to the incredible galleries containing works by Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Donatello (the real ones, not the Ninja Turtles!), and more, Florence is a city that will wow even the most casual appreciators of art.
Cinque Terre: This incredibly beautiful string of five small villages, each located at the cliff’s edge bordering the Ligurian Sea, is one of the most stunning parts of Italy. Colorful houses are built right into the cliffside, and you’ll gasp as you watch daredevils leap from the rocks into the glittering turquoise waters. Enjoy beaches, history, and amazing food in this stunning setting.

The Roman Colosseum, built in the first century AD, is perhaps the most iconic landmark in Rome. The history of the Colosseum is bloody and fascinating, and you’ll have the opportunity to get up close and personal with this massive structure on your tour. After a morning breakfast in your hotel, your local guide will take you by coach to the Colosseum where you take a private tour amongst the vast interior of this famous amphitheater and learn about its history and some of the fights, executions, and other events that took place here. After exploring the Colosseum’s history, you will pass to the nearby Palatine Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome, where Emperor Augustus kept his seat of power. You will see the Circus Maximus, the Arches of Constantine, the Arch of Titus, and the Roman Forum, which throughout history has served as the center of Roman public life.
The tours will last about 3 hours, but after they are done you will have the opportunity to explore Rome on your own for the afternoon. Visit the Trevi Fountain and toss a coin over your left shoulder with your right hand to ensure your return to Rome someday, or climb the famous Spanish steps to reach the Trinità dei Monti church. Enjoy dinner on your own and return to the hotel at your leisure, whether that means an early lie-in or a fun evening spent enjoying Rome’s vibrant nightlife.
