Matt Long

Matt quit his 9-5 job to live out his dream of seeing the world, which he shares on his travel blog LandLopers.com. Matt loves to experience the best the world has to offer from great hotels and delicious meals to some of the most amazing adventures on the planet.

Zagreb: Croatia’s capital sometimes gets overlooked, but as soon as you arrive, you’ll discover one of Europe’s great cities. From the colorful St. Mark’s Church to the quirky Museum of Broken Relationships, there’s a lot to love in this bustling city.

Zadar: One of Matt’s favorite cities in the world, Zadar has been capturing hearts for generations. A gorgeous old town with delicious food and wine and what many consider to be the best sunset in the world along the waterfront makes Zadar a trip highlight.

Split: History is alive in this coastal city where remnants of the ancient Roman palace are built into hundreds of homes and restaurants throughout the city center. Split is also an important home base for anyone spending time yachting through Croatia’s many islands.

Dubrovnik: One of the most impressive walled cities in Europe, you’ll immediately understand why “Game of Thrones” uses this ancient city in the popular TV show. Walk the cobbled side streets, discover your own special cafe or wine bar and enjoy the incredible water views in what truly is one of the world’s most beautiful cities.

Arrive and get some rest, explore the city on your own before joining the group for a special welcome dinner.

Arrival: Fly into Zagreb Airport (ZAG).

Included: Welcome Dinner

Join us in the morning for an expertly guided introduction to Zagreb including the historic sights that have been so important to its history. In the afternoon, head off on your own to discover what you love most, from museums to cafes, the options are limitless.

Included: Breakfast, Zagreb Tour

Leave early for a special stop on the way to Zadar - Plitvice Lakes National Park. This massive UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most impressive in all of Europe, and definitely one of the most photographed. Grab your daily Instagram photo here! Arrive in Zadar later that afternoon just in time for the city’s famous sunset.

Included: Breakfast, Park Excursion, Transportation to Zadar

Spend the morning with a local expert as they share what they love most about their city. Use their recommendations to do some exploration on your own later that afternoon. Be sure to also sample some of the many regional food favorites.

Included: Breakfast, Zadar Tour

Enjoy an easy drive down to the ancient city of Split, where we’ll participate in a cooking class as soon as we arrive. Food is so important along the Dalmatian Coast, and Split is one of the best places to enjoy regional classics. Spend the rest of the day on your own exploring the labyrinthine back streets of this popular destination.

Included: Breakfast, Cooking Class, Transportation to Split

Today, we'll travel along the coast to the incredible city of Dubrovnik. Enjoy some free time upon arrival and be sure to check out the amazing restaurants in the city center.

Included: Breakfast, Transportation to Dubrovnik

Today, we'll start with a special Game of Thrones tour taking us to the iconic places featured on the hit TV show. Afterwards, spend some time walking the city walls or see if you can find the cafe hidden behind the walls.

Included: Breakfast, Game of Thrones Tour

We'll enjoy an active start in the morning with a once-in-a-lifetime kayak tour around Dubrovnik. The paddling is easy as we'll explore the city walls from the other side, but the experience is something you’ll never forget. Freshen up for a spectacular farewell dinner as we sadly say goodbye to Croatia.

Included: Breakfast, Kayak Tour, Farewell Dinner

Depart for home and start planning the next adventure!

Included: Breakfast

Departure: Fly out of Dubrovnik Airport (DBV).

All of our trips include accommodations, transportation between cities, some meals and a number of activities relevant to the theme of your trip! Most of our hotels also include breakfast, but that varies by destination. A local guide who speaks the language will also be assigned to your trip and ready to provide recommendations every step of the way. Welcome to a better way to follow your passion while seeing the world!
International flights to and from the tripp destination are not included. Looking for cheap flights? Check out kiwi.com!
Excursions and tours vary trip to trip and are based on the theme of the trip. Refer to the trip itinerary to see which activities are included in your trip!
Typically, at least 2 dinners and breakfast every day is included, but it varies trip to trip. You can ask your local guide for tips on where to eat cheap if you’re on a budget! Dietary & allergy information will also be collected leading up to the trip to ensure you’re taken care of.
TrovaPass is a subscription service where you can earn credits on a monthly basis that can be applied towards trips. It is not currently available to new subscribers.
A 25% down payment is due at the time of booking. The down payment is refundable until your spot is confirmed at which time it becomes non-refundable. You will receive an email when your spot is confirmed. The remaining balance will be charged 60 days prior to the trip departure. If you book within 60 days from trip start, the full amount will be due at booking, but still refundable until your spot is confirmed. See all of our Terms & Conditions.
When you book your trip, your spot will enter a pending status. In most cases, your spot will be confirmed about 48 hours after booking. In cases where the trip has not yet achieved the minimum number of bookings required for confirmation, your pending status may last longer. While we typically notify much sooner, you’ll be notified at least 60 days prior to trip start whether or not your spot is confirmed. Your down payment is refundable until your spot is confirmed. We recommend not booking a flight until your spot is confirmed.
We cater to adults past the stage of roughing it - that means no hostels and no hotels below 3 stars. We strive to create an experience that’s not only authentic, but also easily accessible and comfortable. All hotel locations are conveniently located near the heart of each major destination, so you can live like a local. Less time in transit means more time doing; save the commute for back home.
No more than 20 travelers on each trip. In order to create a personalized experience, we feel it is important to keep group sizes smaller. Sometimes, less is more!
We try to start and end all trips in a major city with an international airport for your convenience. It’s up to you whether or not you want to continue your adventure after the trip ends!
We will send a detailed itinerary with everything you need to know at least 2 weeks prior to your trip start date including hotel information and airport transfer information (if included). Before your trip, you’ll be invited to both a Facebook and WhatsApp group to meet the other travelers and start exchanging information. You can expect each trip to kick off with a welcome dinner for you to meet everyone after settling into your room. Bon Appétit!
Unless listed otherwise, you’ll sleep in twin or double shared accommodations with private bathrooms. Traveling with a friend? Just plug in their name while booking under "Special Requests" or shoot us an email at hi@trovatrip.com and we’ll ensure you’re roomed together. Uncomfortable with sharing a room? No problem! Most of our trips offer a single supplement option that you can choose when booking.
Excellent question! We’ll provide a full itinerary including hotel and transportation details at least 2 weeks prior to your trip including all necessary travel information. Accommodations often change depending on the group size, so we like to get the exact itinerary out to you when finalized to avoid confusion.
If you’re leaving the country, you’ll need a valid passport that doesn't expire for at least 6 months from your return date. You may also need a Visa.
