Experience the best of Alaska's unique landscape from a get-your-hands-dirty point of view. You'll build, hike, and eat & drink your way through Anchorage, Seward, and Denali while completing DIY projects along the way with your host, Chris Gardner of ManMadeDIY.com

Anchorage: In Anchorage, you'll get the perfect marriage of wildlife, the outdoors and city luxuries (great craft beer too)! Join us while we put our hands to work building and taking breaks to visit local breweries, i.e. Midnight Sun Brewing.

Seward: Surrounded by mountains on one side and touching Resurrection Bay on the other, Seward is a destination like no other. You can hike, climb, kayak, fish, whale-watch and even get into some glaciers if you’re feeling adventurous. Enjoy the incredible sea life and all that Seward has to offer during your stay.

Denali: You can’t travel this far without visiting Denali. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the “big five” - grizzly bears, wolves, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. Are you a climber? Visit the continent’s highest peak at Mount McKinley.

You made it! Our trip starts in Alaska’s largest city, Anchorage. We’ll kick off the evening with a welcome happy hour. Don’t stay up too late (or do...) because we’ll be leaving bright and early for Seward to get our nature fix.

Arrival: Festivities start in Anchorage at 6pm. Fly into Anchorage International Airport (ANC).

Included: Welcome dinner with the squad!

Rise and shine! We’re off to Seward with a pit stop at the Conservation Wildlife Park to get our fair share of lynx, bison, elk, deer, owls, moose, foxes, wolves, bears… you get the picture.

Included: Conservation Wildlife Park Visit

Included: Transportation to Seward

It’s nature time! From glaciers to kayaks to fishing, the options are endless. We’ll curate a list of activities for you to choose from, and if it tickles your fancy to just kick back and relax, we’re good with that too. It’s your vacation and your choice!

Seward sits on the Kenai Peninsula surrounded by peaks and glaciers. This habitat is abundant with whales, seals, puffins and fish. We can arrange a boat tour if you're feeling the ocean-life or if you’d prefer dry land, there are plenty of hikes to do.

Feeling antsy? Like you need to put your hands to work? We’ve got you covered. A bus we’ll pick us up in the morning to bring the crew back to Anchorage where Chris will be leading a much anticipated woodworking workshop.

Woodworking Workshop with Chris (included): The list of useful implements that can be crafted from wood is infinite and amazing. But so is the the amount of information and people telling you all the tools you need to buy to start making wood projects. We'll take inspiration from the unique geography and landscape of Alaska to explore what it takes to craft items from wood without a huge investment in oversized power tools or hours spent learning to hand cut joinery.

By now you’ve probably mastered wood and should be feeling ready for a new challenge. You’re in luck. Chris will be teaching a leather workshop, which we’ll conveniently celebrate with a toast to our final night in Alaska.

Leather Workshop with Chris (included): DIY leather projects tend to go one of two directions: the well-built and long-lasting items that require a steep learning curve and hard to work materials; or cheap, chemical-laden "soft crafts" of the kind you can find at the craft store. We'll take a look at how to get the most out of leather as a practical material, without needing to learn hand stitching or complex construction methods. After exploring how it works, we'll create two simple, classic leather products you can use every day.

Sadly our trip ends here… unless you join us in Denali. Say ‘no' to going back to work, and say ‘yes' to a 3-night add-on for more wilderness, memories, and vacation-time. Why woodn’t you?

Included: Transportation to Anchorage

Did you know that Denali is the tallest land-base mountain on Earth? Learn more about Denali with us as we scamper into the national park for a day of adventure and discovery.

Included: Transportation to Denali

It’s your last full day, so do as you please. We'll make choosing easier with a curated list of activities such as hiking, flying, zip-lining, etc. Luckily, Alaska experiences some of the longest daylight hours in the world during the summer, so you won’t be penalized for sleeping in.

Wah, wahh, wahhh. It is officially the last day of the trip, and we’re sincerely sad to see you go. We’ll ensure you get back to Anchorage early enough to catch an afternoon flight home. Until next time, my friends.

Included: Transportation to Anchorage

Departure: We'll drop you off in Anchorage by 2pm. Fly out of Anchorage International Airport (ANC).

We cater to young professionals past the stage of roughing it - that means no hostels and no hotels below 3 stars. We strive to create an experience that’s not only authentic, but also easily accessible and comfortable. All hotel locations are conveniently located near the heart of each major destination, so you can live like a local. Less time in transit means more time doing; save the commute for back home.
No more than 20 travelers on each trip. In order to create a personalized experience, we feel it is important to keep group sizes smaller. Sometimes, less is more!
